Seems to me a necessary read

Cooperative Wisdom: aptly titled and perfect for the political — and other — divides in our lives.

This popped up in an email this morning. Made me smile.

“And the deepest level of communication is not communication, but communion. It is wordless. It is beyond words, and it is beyond speech, and it is beyond concept. Not that we discover a new unity. What we have to be is what we are.” — Thomas Merton, Asian Journal

Delightful and fleeting

To pay attention, this is our endless and proper work. — Mary Oliver

And, to this I’ll add: I love hearing the birds sing and feeling the winds blow and seeing the irises and peonies bloom and watching the river move slowly — and quickly, after a rain.

Paying attention is our best chance. As a species, I mean.
