Everyone’s a library

The Wisconsin Book Festival makes my heart sing.

This year, I heard these presentations:

Randall Duk Kim and Anne Occhiogrosso doing scenes from several plays by William Shakespeare and talking about their love for his use of language. They spoke, too, about their American Players Theater in Wisconsin, which “was founded with the goal of making the language of the great classics — especially the works of Shakespeare — accessible to the widest possible audience.”

Ben Ehrenreich on his book: The Way to the Spring: Life and Death in Palestine.
Andrew Bacevich on his new book: America’s War for the Greater Middle East.
James Campbell on his new book about his and his daughter Aidan’s trips to northern Alaska.

Way to go, Madison, Wisconsin. Another beautiful event to celebrate books and the people who write them.
