White stuff on the ground

It’s poetry, that snow just outside my windows and doors and walls that keep me inside where warmth has its way with my hip that’s been hurting — just a bit, mind you — since that slip on the ice last week. Thanking everything for strong bones and the just-right way my feet flew up and my body landed.

Snow is poetry. If you’re very, very quiet.
