Thinking about freedom

I like knowing my ancestors were brave enough to risk crossing the ocean to get to the U.S. It was the 1800s, and that crossing wasn’t at all easy.

I think they must have had great imaginations.

On this July 4 holiday weekend, I am thinking of them and what they went through so I could be here.

I hope never to take for granted the freedoms I enjoy.

    • Hi, Cindi — I’m thinking your part of Norway is lovely just about now. Well, lovely always — but esp. in its glorious summer. Thank you for the comment. Truly can’t take freedom or anything it gives us for granted, without injuring the universe.

      • Yes, it has been mostly glorious. Today Mother Nature decided to be sneaky and brought rain and clouds to dampen our Fourth of July cookout. No problem. We’ll eat inside, and my American flag doesn’t mind waving in the rainy Norwegian air! 🙂
