Reading in Canada

I was at my favorite place in Canada for two weeks this summer. The first week, I was by myself and read one book a day. One of my favorites was The Stone Carvers by Jane Urquhart. Marvelous story. And, there’s something wonderful about reading Canadian authors while in Canada.

The second week, friends from Wisconsin and southern Ohio joined me. We read, kayaked, swam, picked wild strawberries and blueberries, did puzzles, hiked, watched the water from the spacious and lovely porch, made good dinners, and visited with each other.

Different dynamic both weeks. And, both weeks, equally lovely.
